Red Belly Day is a celebration of the Springs on the banks of the Suwannee River and is held from 9am 'til 4:00pm at the Fanning Springs State Recreational Area on US Highway 19 in Fanning Springs, FL.

Red Belly Day is sponsored by the Dixie County Chamber of Commerce, a Florida Non-Profit Corporation. Proceeds from the event go to sponsor Christmas in the Park, an event which benefits local under-priviledged children, as well as participation in the Suwannee River Fair and Livestock Show & Sale, and the promotion of ecotourism in Dixie County.

One of the best reasons to come to Red Belly Day is the live entertainment. Past performers have included Teri Clark, Toby Keith, John Anderson, Crosstyz, Gordon Brothers, Highway 101, Southland, Rick Gordon, Jake Murphy and Wildfire. It stands to reason, that with such talent that has been lined up for the annual event, the 2007 Red Belly Day promises to be the best yet. Once again the celebration will be held over the Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 26th.

	Entertainment
	Confederate Railroad band will be performing at the 2007 Red Belly Day. Joining the popular country western band will be many of our local favorites such as Cross Tyz, Rick Gordon Band, Dotti South, Southland and the Underdawgs. Confederate Railroad is known for their combination of honky-tonk rock, sensitive ballads, and offbeat humor, which has brought them chart success, multi-platinum sales, and continued popularity as a road band. Some of their biggest hits have been “Queen of Memphis,” “Trashy Women,” Jesus And Mama,” and “Daddy never Was The Cadillac Kind.”

	Arts and Crafts
	Vendors from all over the state will be displaying their wares all day long. Vendors are constantly changing their products to stay in tune with the market. Face painting is a big hit with the kids. There is also a dunking booth where you can test your pitching skills. So, no matter what your taste is, you will likely find something that you just can't get by without.

	Food Vendors
	Good food can be found each Red Belly Day, past vendors have included bar-b-que, seafood, hamburger, hot dogs, funnel cakes, homemade ice cream and kettle corn. Watch the process of ice cream making as they use the "Old Fashion" machine and recipes. Become an active participant in the games of Red Belly Day and work up an appetite for the great food, snacks, and cold drinks available throughout the day.

	Belly Flop Contest
	The Belly Flop contest has generated a lot interest with people making the trip to be in the contest, to interest by the late night talk shows, the Belly Flop contest has turned into the contest to be in. From the splashes of the mighty mites to the heavy mates, there is a lot of aaaahhhh's heard around the springs when a contestant "gets in right".
